We are a Village.

Our Mission

Village Life lives into a “village” vision of the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. We believe we are designed to be in community, love one another, and build each other up.

Welcome to Village Life.

Village Life lives into a “village” vision of the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. We believe we are designed to be in a community, love one another, and build each other up.

We mentor young people to see their self worth and discover their design and purpose. We create opportunities to activate their leadership in ways that serve and add value to the community.

We accomplish this through our 3 pillars:

  • Community Building

  • Youth Empowerment

  • Family First

You can read more about each of these values below.

Village Life is:

Community
Building

  • We uplift and invest in our community.

  • We focus on meaningful relationships - not transactional interactions.

  • We pray for and work towards a loving, transformative community.

  • We believe in the power of community- that together we are stronger than we would be on our own.

Youth
Empowerment

  • We teach morals, build character, address trauma, and help young people navigate the brokenness of this world.

  • We create a support structure that empowers young people to make healthy and healing life choices.

  • We encourage each person to use their gifts and develop new skills.

Family
First

  • We prioritize family. We work to love each of our own families well and are also work to become an extension of family as a village together.

  • Inspired by 1 Corinthians 13, we build a healthy family by doing our best to teach and practice love and all of its attributes as listed in the Bible.

It Takes a Village.

Partner With Us

Living into Village Life’s mission takes a village! Here are some tangible ways to use your gifts and skills:

  • Join Our Intercessory Prayer Team:
If you can dedicate regular time to praying for us, this is the opportunity for you. You’ll receive a monthly email with specific prayer requests. No meeting required.

  • Give financially:
Marcus left his city job and Will left his trade job to dedicate themselves to our youth. Because our priority is being active with the youth and present in the community, we rely on donors like you to keep this work going.

    • We are eligible for corporate matching grants. See if your employer has one.

  • Volunteer:

    • Join youth events like basketball games in the park, video game club, or Bible studies.

    • Connect us to your network. If you know people, churches, or organizations interested in investing in youth or Bayview/Hunters Point, let us know.

    • Reach out to local grocery stores. We’re looking for someone who can reach out to and follow-up with grocery stores about donating groceries to our Widow’s Initiative.

Our Activities

Widow’s Initiative

We shop for, pack, and distribute groceries to elderly women in our community.

Camper Connect

We pack and distribute hygiene kits to our neighbors living in cars and campers.

Mentoring

Our mentors work one-on-one and in small groups with teens. We work out together, run errands when needed, support them in school, celebrate birthdays and accomplishments, and organize activities.

Outdoor Adventures

We get out of our normal environment, experience outdoor living, and bond. Recent trips include hiking in Yosemite, fishing in Sonoma, and camping in Redding.

Gaming and Sports

We build a safe and healthy sports and gaming culture while also learning about the industry and tech.

  • Bayview United Gaming: A weekly video game club that focuses on social gaming and character building

  • Flag football and basketball hangouts
